Sailing things right

Stormy night results:
- Minus two fenders
- Minus leech line on port-side
- Minus three mooring lines
Two guys from the marina came to me and told me that some motorboat owner saw my troubles out from his window at home and called the marina to relocate my boat to his place while his boat was serviced ashore.
Now it's much better. The only risk left is losing bimini to the 40±5kn gusts.
And it really revives the faith in humanity. Some quite rich guy saw another random guy in trouble and offered very valuable help.
Thank you, unknown guy. Thank you very much.

Facing upcoming storm, had to get to the marina. Occasionally, this one "wannabe Olbia", was the closest one with the price of €58/night for the 11.9m boat at the lowest season.
Tho, ⅔ births are occupied.
...
Walked around, humiliated by local restaurants prices — ~€20 for risotto and up, — and then luckily found a pub with "men's food, half-a-kilo".
Now I'm a really happy man.

Let's consider this side temporary fixed.
My mania for gathering "could be useful" supplies paid out again.
I've ordered a bag of self-drilling screws of various sizes a while ago and today found out that the big ones are exact the same used all around the boat, including chocks. Have to order 30 pieces more. :)
Every day with this boat I'm getting more and more enlightened why a lot of sailors saying "all the boats after 1990 must have been burned right at the staples. Preferably, with all the effective managers inside".
This may look like a whining, but I really would like to squeeze the throat of the person made a decision that chocks should be that size and fixed in place by three 5mm screws. The unit that should hold 20 tons alone attached with three tiny screws. My butt burns.

Was trying to fix the speed sensor. Later found that it's unfortunately not working at all. I don't even want to know how much this thing costs. :(
29 February 2024
16:49 https://y-b.one/boat-life/196/
Arrived at the anchorage at Majorca.
Tailing Mistral wasn't the best idea. Short swell over 2 meters, sometimes 4+, autopilot wasn't working, falling into error with the every other wave, so 26 hours of manual steering.
Moreover, the wind was very unstable and since my friend got severe sea sickness, we didn't use sails much. So half-tank of diesel is burned away.
Anyway, first 130 miles done.

Shitty native Bavaria's inverter exhausted its magic smoke, therefore we have no 220v onboard anymore.
Fun fact: inverter says it's 800W, the teapot says it's 650W. Magic smoke proves that someone there is a damn liar.

You can't be 100% prepared for the trip. There's always something not ready, even broken. But there's a moment, when one should say "It's time to go".
If the forecast is accurate enough, in two days we should start and will reach Sardegna in record time just few hours ahead of upcoming storm.
Right now we have 40 knots of wind in the marina, so the boat is already a little bit shaking and banking. Let's consider that as a light training.

Got a new fancy scarf.
40 meters of a scarf, that will be a spinnaker halyard, a dinghy crane rope, a mast climbing halyard and a dog toy sometime in the end.

I've been multiple times told that I'm an idiot planning to install a standard windshield from a car to the sprayhood.
Just found that I'm not the only idiot with that idea!

About twenty miles to go.
Slowed down a bit too arrive after the sunrise.
The second photo is from the past sunset.
Once I've been told that the Mediterranean isn't the best region for sailing — either too much wind or too little. Seems like true. Over 150 miles of motoring this time. Deadly boring and painfully expensive.

Another word of gratitude:
At first I was thinking about sitting anchored in-between two rocks for three days waiting for the storm passing by. But my friend wasn't excited with this idea at all and offered to pay for the marina, so he could do his job as a normal white cisgender colonist male being used to work — on stable land, in a cafe, sitting still.
From my current mooring in the marina to the desired anchorage is just about a mile straight. But I'm really scared to go there and see what we'd be facing there today if we stay.
So, thank you, friend. You've probably saved my boat.

This is not good. And the very same condition on the other side.
If it pulls so hard in one of the most protected harbours, I don't wanna think about what's going on outside, in open sea.

Living on solar power.
Today is mostly cloudy day, but nevertheless got some power.
Instruments are powered on.
Can't test it properly with autopilot tho.
The spike on a graph is a teapot. Hence the output wattage graph isn't a real output, but how much the boat consumes. Spike showing the maximum output of the panel today when consumption exceeds power generation.

Finally, new bilge pumps arrived.
Ordered two, to install one to the engine compartment too.
I must say, that these new pumps are absolutely insane in amount of water pushed out. About 5 liters of water pumped out from a bucket in about a second.
