Cleaned the solar panel. It was just the dust covering it and not too much. Immediately gained 25 percent increase in output.

Yeah, I totally agree.

I just lost my helping hand, my crew-mate, my hope for easy sailing — my autopilot has generally failed and fixing it will cost me a bag of money. :(

I really don't know how I could become a paid blogger if I missed that opportunity for a decent content.
I got failed a fresh water pump, went to the city for a new one, spent twice as much money, went back, unmounted the failed one, mounted a new one, did some tricks with the piping and housing and now, 7 hours later, I have fresh water again.
That could be an hour-long blog-post but I didn't shoot a single second!

Got close with the mast.
Some discoveries:
- The mast is ok
- All the metal around is ok, no any damage or aging revealed
- I have two rope intakes for the spinnaker (halyard and the boom)
- I have only one pulley installed (boom)
- I can't use the spinnaker because there is no pulley for it at the mast top! O.o
Going to send photos and a video to Bavaria. Maybe they will explain to me how I'm supposed to have a spinnaker at this boat with the absence of this pulley.

On our way back we've been passing this small bulker and found that there was a crew steak-party at the stern.
They were signalling to join them, but we were in a bit of a hurry unfortunately so couldn't join.

Got a squall today. Quite a frightening view, but turned out to be more scary than dangerous. Gusts about 35kn and some rain.
Anchor held well.

This is a helm lock screw.
The plastic cap is cracked and the metal rod isn't fixed anymore.
I need to fix it, preferably the way the unit will keep its current form but something reliable to last many years.
Best for me to be able to do this on the boat without the special equipment.
Solution I got in my head: crack plastic further, clean the center with Dremel, sand it with rough paper, fill the cap with epoxy and insert the rod.
Any better ideas?

A full three months have passed since I installed the solar panel but it is still exciting making power out of nothing.
Usually, by noon all batteries are topped up and then the charger just heats the air.
Thinking about modifying the boiler the way that charger will heat the shower water for me after charging the batteries.

Tonight I knew that when you’re coming to Australia, your vessel may be inspected very thoroughly by the customs and YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE INSPECTION 50AUD PER 15 MINUTES!
Mixed feelings about that. They don’t trust you and send people to find something illegal, but you have to pay for their time after…
It’s like if some countries that give you a visa right at arrival for a small fee will make it like “oh, I don’t like your face, so you have to pay for the visa not $5 but $50”.
