Sailing things right

"No proofs — didn't happen" but I've just seen with my own eyes a tiny, about a kilo or two, spearfish jumping out the water.
Launched two lures, but no luck with catching neither it nor whatever was hunting it.
UPD: Hooked it, but with twenty backflips it managed to get off the hook. :(

There are a lot of scary moments in a sailor's life. Broaching, squalls, rogue waves, lightning strikes, leaks, losing a mast, losing engine when it needed the most... This list isn't even a quarter of the actual one.
But there's a thing that's not life-threatening, but every sailor shits a ton of bricks momentarily — finding a life-raft in the open sea.
I'm sorry for the speech, I was still a bit shaking at the moment of recording and forgot the words.

Going west.
The wind is straight behind, so sailing with genoa only.
Autopilot today is in a good mood, so I'm having a very chilly sailing.
The only question is where to anchor overnight, or go further while autopilot is working. This part of Italy has literally zero shelters from the swell, so staying on anchorage anywhere around might be quite rolly.

Also today my new small fishing rod returned the investment.
The taste of the just caught tuna is incomparable. I think two-three more and I'll never touch canned tuna again.

Messing again with illumination.
BTW, I've added paid reactions. So if anyone got excited enough about some of my posting, you're welcome to gift it a star. :)

Made a nice deal: gave out nescafe coffee maker which I don't use in exchange to a special device that connects to the instruments on the boat and broadcasts all the data to my phone over WiFi.
Now I got a lot of numbers working on the phone during the navigation.
Only AIS left to obtain and install

The most luxurious thing in the world — falling asleep staring at Milky Way. Every day.
I am so happy to have that.
This photo is named "Sobakobulochnoye izdelie #2". For everyone interested, it's a word-play, can't be translated directly, but consider it calling a dog a warm fluffy bun in a form of a dog.

Lost the lure to the largest fish I've ever got hooked. The metal leash with "30kg guaranteed handled force" torn apart on pulling this tuna. :(

Found out that my autopilot still unhealthy.
Dunno the reason it's losing alignment, but it seems like still the flux gate is the reason. Or maybe the head already gone crazy.
Whatever..
Set up the sails, balanced it, and there's no need in autopilot in such conditions. Just fixed the rudder in neutral position.
Boat is stable at the course. Windy says that we'll be fine with this course until the tomorrow night when we'll have to tack.

Yesterday I bought a short fishing rod to catch something while anchored.
Success! Ursa will have some fish for dinner today.
Used cheap sausages for bait. :)

Splash!
So far so good.
Anchored nearby.
Autopilot calibrated itself successfully by swinging the boat 360° couple times, which gives me a strong hope that it will work from now as it should.

New day, new failures.
Wind sensor is dead.
Maybe because of the recent thunderstorm, or maybe just wiring — dunno, but need to check.

This morning I had a spectacular view of my dingy's belly. The whole new world grew up there in three weeks.

Ursa never ever before did grow and lose so much fur. Every second day I'm pulling out ten to fifteen brushes before she decides "that's enough for today".

Decided to spend another little bag of money on an additional 40 meters of anchor chain. Now I am able to anchor at up to 20 meters depth.
Also, this makes me way more confident in bad weather anchoring.
Also I was gifted with a 12m piece of 10mm chain for the stern anchor.
Life is good. :)
