Sailing things right

The upcoming weekend won’t be boring.

Reached the destination.
Haven't visited the office yet, but by the previous email conversation this will be my stay till the late spring.

Facing gale winds all next week, I'm changing the location to a better protected place.
Yet there's a possibility that I'll stay there till April if they will offer me a good price.

Four years ago today I was flying!

Speaking seriously, at the time I was sick with planes and had plans to get one like Cessna Cardinal and fly everywhere, effectively living nowhere.
To get some airplane maintenance experience I volunteered to help with assembling a RV kit plane and at some moment I realized that I'm not even close to be able to maintain a plane financially and all expenses around it.
That was a bummer.
But, nevertheless, I got an unforgettable experience flying with new friends.

The calmest evening for a long-long time.
Probably, the last one for this year.

Not a single day without failures and more expenses. :(

Found out that incident with the catabatic gust from the island near Olbia made my steamlight fly away.
That's a three-times problem: I need to find a new one and buy it, I need to buy a riveter, I need a second man onboard to lift me up.

Also today the sea started to build up and at the moment waves became about meter high with 3 second periods, my kayak I was towing started living its own life, and in a couple of minutes the handle was torn off and it tried to escape.

Changed location a bit.

Looking around for a cheap marina. The problem is that most of them aren't really expensive, but the amount and quality of services remains questionable.
Spanish marinas look more expensive. But there's another thing — they're continental. So delivery and other stuff is cheaper.
Need to fill an excel table...

A day in photos.
These cliffs near Alghero are MASSIVE. At least 100 meters high, but feels like 200.

Google decided to place them backwards. So the last photo is the sunrise and the first is the sunset.

Huge boat, old small boat, ancient tower and the dog doing dog things. :)

Super Moon, btw

Food. Food is everywhere! :)

With the help of the very explicit curses and precise maneuvering I freed the chain and anchor from the rocks.

Started drawing a new anchor track now. :)

This morning brought me that. Luckily it was a five-minute 30 knots gust only.

When you're sailing without autopilot, your track looks like that. :)

Had a walk around the town. Been in the castle at the hill to see the surroundings.
Nice place. Very "Italian". Old houses of a traditional "mason was drunk af" style, fart-wide streets which can't go straight even 10 meters, two-table cafes and a great photographing scene every next meter.
Italy at its best.

Weather today isn't very pleasant even for marina. Having 25-35 knots of wind.

Yesterday we had a "super Moon" and today got a "super Sun".
Its size is just enormous today.

With my incredible luck I set up the anchor right into the only boulder pile around.
That's why I'm having such a strange track.
Seems like the chain went around the rock and I'm having now way less than 40 meters of chain to the fixed end. From time to time the boat shakes a little with the gusts.

Today's hop.
About 20 miles.
The weather is somewhat grumpy. All grey everywhere.

By the evening I got 15 minutes of sunshine.
Unfortunately, tomorrow will be rainy again.
But this sunset is spectacular.
