Sailing things right

Another great addition to the rat's nest behind the control panel. AIS is now installed.

Tomorrow, probably, will try the freshly resoldered spare autopilot computer.

Traveling from Bar to bays. Yesterday I had a very nice evening with one guy who's all about yachting too and he left some beer that we didn't finish yesterday. That beer is providing me with much pleasure today during the passage. Thanks, Max. :)

Also, tried to negotiate about pricing to stay a couple weeks next to my friends but got a very polite "fuck off" instead. Hence, my living on anchor starts early this year. :))

This morning is so still that fully open headsail gives me MAYBE +0.1 knot.
Heading to Messina strait. 45 miles to go.

Quite a significant amount of WTFs were raised now. :)

That passage was so incredibly still, that dog slept away the most of it.

Arrived to Bar at 0100 and things became sketchy: called the port-control about 30 times over 20 minutes — no answer. Called marina — no answer. Called on channel 16 — SILENCE!!!
With the strongest WTF feeling I've tied the boat to the customs pier and went to bed.
At 0815 woken up by knocking to the boat. Montenegrian border control guy was like "wtf?" and I responded with all my WTFs. Then we agreed to play like I've just came to the port. :)

About ten years ago in Almaty, a stray dog got trapped in a flood channel. Several people worked together to save it. A couple of days ago, a memorial dedicated to that event was unveiled. Events like that give hope that humanity deserves just one more chance.

This tiny-puny thing had a little rest with me literally in the middle between Sardegna and Sicily. Wondering how it even did get there.
Somehow it touches you with a warm feeling when such birds sit resting next to you in the middle of the sea. Now I fully understand why sailors are very prone to some "signs" beliefs. It really feels like some message.

The longest leg done. All good.

44 hours, 237 miles. About 500 to go.
Forecast tells me there will be a lot of motoring. But it's more preferable rather than 30+ knots to the bow as per earlier one. Hoping that will not change.

Today's route.
I've been hoping to sail to Sicily today, but waves forecast is the thing to consider more carefully. 2m waves at 30° to the bow is not the fun thing to experience.
So I'm waiting for the sea to calm down and will start tomorrow at about 0800.
At least, I'm 30 miles closer to the dest.:)

Got a sketchy ais build working.
Processing towards a clean setup. :)

Just in case you forgot: while Great A'Tuin is carrying me and everything to Montenegro, Artemis II mission is flying around to the Moon and back!
