Almost got a heart attack when it started shooting just about 100m away.

Btw, I got my first ceramic dish — it was stuck in the mud I've pulled yesterday with the anchor. Had no camera on me, but trust me, I was surprised. :)

Meh. 40kn+ again. Going north to hide from it. Seems like Porto-Vecchio is going to celebrate Ursa's arrival!

Having a "not so nice" weather here. Despite the fact that it's sunny, the wind just went crazy so I dropped the hook into the rocks and sitting still since then.
I just don't trust my CQR to hold the boat at clear sand at 40 knots.
Peaceful water and the sky may try tricking you, but the wind is howling.

For the fellow boaters here's the chart of the anchor performance made by a great guy from the channel SV Panope.
If anyone is willing to make me a great, bold present — I'll gladly accept any from the top-5, 25kg galvanized steel. Used one is fine too. :)

Mediterranean 1m waves are extremely dangerous for the small boats because eventually these waves combine erecting up to 3m high very steep one that may roll a little motorboat overkeel even if the boat was pointing its nose to the waves.
Also this case pointing that even being close to shore does not give you any higher chances to survive. Fishermen on such boats almost never go farther than 1 mile offshore. Usually less.

Running from the weather again. This year is very annoying in a lot of things, but I'm mostly concerned about the storms. Getting really tired of them.
The rock with the cloud is the same rock that meet me on my first arrival to Olbia with 40+knots gust. And now it looks calm, but very soon there will be quite a fascinating wind behind it.

The forest here is just adorable. Whilst all this summer heat the smell is like I'm walking through sauna. :) Tho the shade is very nice and cool.
Pine trees are beautiful and reminding me forests from my childhood.
And it's sooo calm here.

Now I have a hard choice: read another 100 pages and walk the dog or go to sleep and get ashore at the hottest time of the day.

I'm just about 500 meters away from the shoreline and yet over 20cm wind waves are forming.

What to do if there's 36°C and you need to keep your water at least somewhat cool?
Go ashore to walk the dog, find there a neoprene boot — now you have a great insulator for the bottle. You're beautiful!
