Russian is Weird - ten things that fascinate me about the Russian language.youtu.beI'm subscribed to a selection of channels that present a short videos about some specifics in English that might improve my screwed speech eventually (or not). And YouTube sometimes recommends to me videos for the people learning Russian. Today I got that guy in recommendations and he explains just basic confusions with Russian language that I've never thought about, except the counting which I always give as an example that learning Russian is hard as hell. And he does that with a good sense of humor.

While checking out from Croatia, I've met a woman who just fell on her knees to pet and hug Ursa.
Turned out that she grown up in a farm house where were 6 shepherds and all of them were dog+wolf breed.
She told me that Ursa is just hair-to-hair copy of her favorite dog from her childhood and her name was Vudce Matka which translates to "mother-leader of the pack".
She also told me that she's 100% sure that there's some wolf blood streaming in bobaka's veins.

Small boats usually have an issue with the toilets. Either composting one in an awkward place or none at all. But not this one! :)

These nerdy graphs are telling me that I didn't check neither panels nor batteries status for some time and that over 7kwh of the daily consumption surprised me too. :)

This bullshit, that's being sold as a "tea" in Montenegro, turned out to be an almost perfect refreshing drink when served cold. :)

Today I met a lovely Aussie couple on a beautiful SeaWind 1260 catamaran.
That's a catamaran how I dreamed a proper small catamaran should be designed and made. Incredibly fine, adorable engineering and space design.
Had a very nice chat with them and got a little present that could be made by Australians only. :)

I'm not satisfied with the range of the AIS targets available to me and I had an assumption that my top-mast antenna is malfunctioning.
Rigged AIS with this bum-engineered dipole and got twice range despite it's located almost at the water-level but mast antenna is 16 meters higher.
Replacing the in-mast cables will be hell of a project!

Finally, a proper downwind.
Doing 6.6 knots South.

Time to remember windy anchorages.
The European heat wave had to outcome with some turbulence and here it is.
Had to drop the hook on the slope but it holds me really well. Buying an oversized good anchor was the best decision for that boat — gave me a privilege to sleep instead of sitting anxious and tired listening to the hauling outside.
Yesterday I was too tired to check the wind speed but today morning gusts are a lot less violent — 30 knots only.
25 miles to go to the dest and I have two spare days to choose the best conditions to do it.

AIS is a really cool feature. Pity that only about 10% of the boats are equipped with it and I really have to watch around. :)

Went today across the bay on my dinghy to meet a friend. Right in the middle of the bay the outboard decided to retire with smokes and smell.
Another friend reached me on his dinghy, took the towing rope and in about 100 meters his motor died with the stuck fuel nozzle.
So, today I (we) had a nice 2-mile rowing exercise. :)

Yesterday I've spotted an extremely rare aircraft in the sky.
It's noticeable for its aerodynamic scheme — hybrid of the Canard and the classic one.
